Wood Shredder Machine: A Brief Introduction to Features, Types and Engines

Wood crusher machine is one of the finest wood processing equipment used for converting wooden logs, branches, bamboos and straws into powdered or sawdust. It is a multi- functional machine also known as a wood grinder, bamboo mill and wood shredder. Hopper, chipper mechanism and a bin are three important components of the machine. The raw material actually determines the output capacity of a crusher, though the standard capacity is 2,000 to 2,500 Kg/hr. The machine is so powerful that it can even crush fiber stalks like corn stem, bamboo, coconut shell, rice husk, sorghum stalk, etc. easily. Regardless of the material crushed, the standard size remains less than 5 mm diameter.

Features of Wood Shredder Machine

 * One motor easily drives the machine, therefore it consumes low power.

* These machines have an attractive appearance, robust structure, easy to install and
maintain.

* As per the requirements of clients, these machines are manufactured with or without
wheels.

*  The crushed output is suitable to process all kinds of wood boards or sawdust
briquettes.

* The machine has two in-built chutes. The smaller chute performs the function of
shredding branches into smaller chips whereas the large chute has blades or hammers
that reduce leaves or stalks of plants into tiny bits.

* They are designed in such a manner that work adequately even in harsh weather
conditions.

Because industry requirements vary, therefore a company like Shredder Tech manufactures
different sizes and kinds of wood shredders and supplies in London and across the world.
Some units are easy to handle as they are portable in size whereas some are so powerful that
they need to transport with trucks from one place to another and require medium-sized diesel
engines to operate successfully.

Different Kinds of Wood Crushers

Type 1: Drum Chipper-A drum chipper has a parallel-sized drum with knives in a
horizontal direction. A chip breaker is associated with rotating knives that remain
perpendicular to the blades. These chippers are widely used by workers as well as land
developers to clear forestry.

Type 2: Disk Chipper- It encompasses big steel disk at a perpendicular direction, chopping
blades with slotted disk and a flywheel. The knife is present at the bottom of the chipper and
performs the cutting function in the opposite direction. Depending upon the disk chipper
model, the shape of the knives varies.

Type 3: Screw Chipper- These chippers comprise three kinds of blades: conical, stretching
and screw-shaped. These kinds of wood crusher machines are used for commercial projects
where large pieces of wood need to crush.

Different Engines Powering Wood Shredder Machines

The size of the engine determines how powerful the wood crusher machine and how
effectively it will perform. The small-sized chippers powered with electric motor whereas the
big machines are gas-driven and diesel-driven. The main benefits with electric motors are
they require less maintenance, they are cost-effective and cleaner than gas powered motors.
On the other hand, gas motors are powerful than electric wood chippers and able to handle
heavy loads easily but they are expensive and demand frequent maintenance.

Depending upon usage, industries place an order for different kinds of wood shredders.
